A tea that rewards slow sipping, Golden Monkey is widely regarded as one of the finest black teas in the world — a hand-processed speciality from the misty mountains of the Fujian Province, China.
Only the bud and first leaf are carefully hand-plucked each spring. The fine, downy hairs on the unopened buds turn a vibrant golden-orange during oxidation, and the leaves curl tightly as they dry — the resulting golden, claw-like appearance giving the tea its distinctive name.
